On Saturday of Holy Week, Jesus lay dead in a tomb. This day has often been called Silent Saturday because God seems as if he’s silent, saying nothing.

On Friday of Holy Week, Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried in a tomb. For the time being, it felt as if the devil had come out on top. It may seem as if darkness is winning, but wait…

On Thursday of Holy Week, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples before they shared the Last Supper together.

On Wednesday of Holy Week, Judas Iscariot agrees to betray Jesus. As keeper of the money bag, Judas had a negative track record for how he handled the money in the temple (c.f. John 12:6).

On Tuesday of Holy Week, Jesus teaches one of his greatest teachings: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37).

On Monday of Holy Week, Jesus overturns the tables of the money changers in the temples exclaiming that they have turned the house of prayer into a den of robbers.
