On Tuesday of Holy Week, Jesus taught in the temple court. One of the greatest teachings of Jesus is taught on this day. Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). He goes on to say, “And the second is like it, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:39).
All the commandments of God can be interpreted as loving God and loving your neighbor. You see, nothing is greater than receiving God’s love and then giving God’s love. Freely you have received, freely you are to give.
How is Jesus’ love changing your life? What loving gesture have you shown your neighbor as a result of Jesus’ love for you? Fulfilling God’s commandments is giving thanks for the eternal love with which God showers upon you and emptying yourself of the love for which God gives you to serve your neighbor.
May the teachings of Jesus, especially his greatest teaching given today, transform every part of your life.
